History...
December of 1891 a physical education professor named James Naismith created the game of basketball. One day it was raining outside and he wanted to keep his class busy. Since they couldn't go outside he had to think of an indoor game. That's where it all began. "Basketball was originally played with a soccer ball. The first balls made specifically for basketball were brown, and it was only in the late 1950s that Tony Hinkle, searching for a ball that would be more visible to players and spectators alike, introduced the orange ball that is now in common use. Dribbling was not part of the original game except for the "bounce pass" to teammates. Passing the ball was the primary means of ball movement. Dribbling was eventually introduced but limited by the asymmetric shape of early balls. Dribbling only became a major part of the game around the 1950s, as manufacturing improved the ball shape."
Economical Issues/Talk Of The Town...
Basketball has so much money put into it that people don't even realize. My question for this is, "where is all this money going?" I know that the pay the players and everything else, but I know it's more to it. I still have yet to get a complete answer. I've been investigating and researching about how these sports are a big social thing. Basketball goes a long way, some kids play basketball because they think it makes you cool, they have a dream, or just play for fun. Their is many basketball organizations, like camps, traveling teams, etc that kids play for. I think that basketball is a big social thing. It's not everyones favorite sport but it's most.
